Abstinence is the best protection against and is the only guarantee against STIs.
Choosing to be abstinent is a personal choice. You can make that decision for yourself taking into account your religious teachings, information on sexual education and your upbringing. Your decision should be respected by your partner. Having an open discussion with your partner or special one will enable you to make the appropriate choice.

How do condoms make safe safer?
Condoms form a barrier between the penis and anus, vagina or mouth. We have learnt earlier that some STI’s are spread via bacteria or viruses in body fluids. The barrier keeps one partner’s fluids from getting into or on the other person. Condoms also decrease the amount of skin to skin contact. Condoms are good barriers for safer sex.
Condom is deemed the best method of prevention. Thus, always wear condoms. Always!
